Embossing

Also known as blind-embossing; it is the process of pushing an image into the paper or card from underneath to produce a raised finish. This can be combined with printing or foil blocking to achieve different effects.

To achieve a good result equal pressure needs to be applied to the block with any unevenness leveled out using the operator’s preferred make ready materials. Thick materials allow for the best results, as the depth of the emboss can be greater.

We provide blind-emboss services across our Heidelberg and Gietz machines up to B2 format. When requesting a quote, we will need to know the area of the embossed image and the size of the finished job.
